I have spent some time looking over apps in the past few weeks that I can use in my classroom with the Ipad. There are a ton.....and I mean it....of apps that a teacher can access on to use in the classroom. I am also finding that the Ipad I wish I could share with the entire class at once. So I have looked into getting the attachment to hook the Ipad up to the Activboard. This is a pretty easy process once you have the right connector....only $40. Once I have that there are apps for science, math, reading, social studies, every subject really. I do like that I am able to use the Ipad to help with assessments like the AimsWeb assessment or progress monitoring. I am now able to go to the students while they work rather than having to interrupt the entire class to call students back. Being mobile is huge key to success in the classroom and these apps are allowing me to do just that!
I am also learning about apps from the SE department that can be used to hope our students who have special needs communicate. This is soooo exciting as these students can now communicate their needs and wants rather than having staff guess what they are looking for. Technology is fun, but also so helpful and instrumental in success of students.
